Mud, Twine & Sticks specializes in functional fiber arts, selling a variety of naturally dyed handmade jewelry, accessories, clothing and home goods. The natural dyes used come from flowers, bark and roots to yield beautiful unique colors. A variety of clothing from baby, children, men and Women (small-plus sizes), are all hand dyed by the artist, Elizabeth Marcais. These artistic creations are inspired by the ancient Japanese art of Shibori, the beach, patterns and the natural world.

I love nature and working with natural materials. When, I'm not making art you can find me homeschooling my son, reading, or gardening. My educational background is in Graphic Design and Ceramics for which I have a B.A. I was a public school art teacher for 18 years, before transitioning to being a full-time natural dye artist. I live in Madison Heights, Virginia with my husband, two children and two furry cats name Tonks and Leia after Harry Potter and Star Wars characters.
