House of TAU
Material Goods/Craft/Flea/Art
I make handbuilt, functional, pottery as well as fine art “ceramic photographs” using image transfers.
I grew up making homemade pasta and other traditional Italian dishes with my Grandmother in her kitchen. Handbuilding uses a lot of the same delicate hand skills I was taught as a child. I love to express my heritage through a contemporary making practice, as I feel it references the values of the great homemade food and rustic design culture of my ancestors.
I have been making ceramics for 10 years, (and in the Arts for 30). In 2022, I opened up my studio, House of TAU, located in Cabbagetown neighborhood of Atlanta.
"K.T." Tauches
"Pottery is the medicine" is my motto. Coming from a Fine Art background, I return to my roots: making beautiful things by hand! My pottery expresses my connection to my ancestors (Italian and Lithuanian) and the materials of the Earth.
