Hello! I'm Leila, owner & curator for Azadi Mercantile. I'm a curated shop of handmade new, vintage, & antique Persian, Turkish, & Afghan rugs. I also offer some home decor items, such as rugs that have been repurposed as pillow covers. As an Iranian-American (& 18+ years in Georgetown, Texas!), I grew up with handmade rugs underfoot & greatly appreciate this craft & artisanship. My love for the craft is extended to others now through my shop. I've attended Georgetown markets in previous years as a means of introducing our community to the craft & to my shop. I look forward to the opportunity once again & to speaking with others about this art form!
