What is Concierge Dental Wellness?
Concierge Dentistry - Concierge Medicine is relationship-based membership healthcare that pairs exclusive, personalized care with accessibility and convenience and we have adapted this approach to dentistry. We don’t see patients. We see people - with real lives, real stories and real struggles. Dr. Ryan Lepore & Dr. Erin Dougherty allow the extra time to hear your story so they can better serve YOU. You may have been to other offices where you had a long wait time to be seen, where the dentist always seems rushed, or you felt like just a number. This is unfortunately due to many practices forced into volume-driven models instead of a relationship-driven one. For a flat monthly fee, you get unlimited office visits that last as long as you need, as well as direct care from a doctor without worrying about copays and other charges. And if your needs warrant, your doctor personally coordinates specialist referrals to work hand-and-hand in collaborative care. While our office still assists patients with traditional market-based insurance, in true concierge dental medicine, there’s no insurance or corporate health system interference—just doctors and patients.
Spa Dentistry - The moment you step into our dental spa, you’ll realize that this is unlike any dental practice you’ve visited before. We strive to create a peaceful atmosphere in the reception area and each of our treatment rooms. Our practice will be just as cozy and comfortable as a luxurious resort. Our elevated standard of care includes hot towels, noise-canceling headphones that play your custom station, soft blankets & comfy pillows. Enjoy our refreshment bar before or after your visit for your relaxation.
Oral-Systemic Wellness - There is an important connection between the health of your mouth and health of your body. This is called the oral-systemic connection. This simply means that oral health impacts your overall health, and systemic health (the presence of various diseases and disorders in your body) can affect your oral health. With your mouth as the “gateway to your body,” things like proper brushing techniques, diet, and regular visits to the dentist can have a direct influence on your physical, psychological, and social health. Dentists like Drs. Lepore and Dougherty are expertly trained in this approach and regularly correspond with your primary care physician and medical specialists such as cardiologists, ear nose & throat doctors (ENT), GI doctors (gastroenterologists), endocrinologists, pulmonologists and sleep physicians. While it is normal for bacteria to be present in the mouth, certain bacteria are known to have negative effects elsewhere in the body. We perform innovative tests such as salivary testing to test for these specific bacteria that are known to be directly causal and/or related to: heart attack and stroke, high blood pressure, diabetes, alzheimer’s disease/dementia, early-term birth/miscarriage, autoimmune disorders and even certain cancers.
Functional Dental Medicine - The functional medicine model of care offers a patient-centered approach to chronic disease management. It seeks to answer the question, “Why are you ill?” so you can receive personalized, effective care for your needs. In dentistry, this hopes to answer questions such as “Why are you prone to cavities?”, “Why do you grind your teeth?” or “Why do your gums bleed?”. So while we treat the effects of these with proper cleanings, fillings or crowns, and night guards for instance, we don’t stop there. We instead use a collaborative process to treat the cause of these to prevent long-term issues and investments in your dental and total health care.

Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Lepore grew up locally in Pinellas County. He attended Tarpon Springs High School before attaining undergraduate and dental school degrees from the University of Florida. Despite a rigorous course of study, Dr. Lepore held down a job throughout dental school.
While acquiring continuing education, Dr. Lepore took a step back from the traditional model learned in dental school: Identify a problem. Fix that problem. Instead, Dr. Lepore decided to focus on the “whys” behind the problem. What is causing the chronic pain? The persistent ailment? He embarked on creating a practice that was preventive versus reactive – that protected the tooth from breakage or the effects of gum disease rather than that fixed the tooth after it was already broken or weakened. This approach has resulted in care that costs less and is more pleasant for the patient.
Additionally, Dr. Lepore is active in the broader medical community, not “just” within the dental association realm. He works with family physicians and other medical specialists to support sustained health and wellness.
So, Dr. Lepore stays true to the “comprehensive dentistry” part of his practice’s name. He screens for indicators of health problems that go beyond the oral cavity. Furthermore, he works with other medical providers on diagnoses and multi-faceted treatments for sleep apnea and sleep-disordered breathing conditions. As Dr. Lepore likes to say, “We are not just looking at your teeth. We are looking at the whole you.”
Similarly, Dr. Lepore is a “people person.” He gets jazzed about meeting patients and their families. He enjoys getting to know them. Furthermore, he sets the tone for the rest of the practice. With Dr. Lepore’s leadership, our team will be there for you. We’ll put you at ease if you’re scared or apprehensive. Or, we’ll listen non-judgmentally about your concerns. When the lab coat comes off, you’ll find Dr. Lepore going out for dinner and drinks with his wife; goofing off with his two young children, Luca and Melina; attending church; watching hockey, and spending quality time with friends.
