Chef David Gutierrez was born in Los Angeles County and raised on a few simple principles; work hard, provide for the ones you love, and make a damn good taco. He spent his childhood watching his mom making tortillas, which would later inspire him to attend culinary school.

David’s curiosity about the world and desire to travel led to him a year abroad in Bondi Beach, Australia leading the kitchen at Three Blue Ducks and sharing international meals with his Australian and Slovakian roommates.

Upon returning to the US, David set a goal - to cook and learn in the best restaurants in America. Naturally, this brought him to Chicago. After a few years of mastering the art of pasta making, David landed a stage with acclaimed chef, Curtis Duffy at his three Michelin starred restaurant, Grace. David drank the fine-dining Kool-Aid and has not looked back.

David and wife, Kathleen, relocated to Nashville in 2022 with a dream and a plan; to make the freshest and best tacos with local ingredients. Sharing a piece of their heart and soul with new neighbors in our growing city.
