Index Coffee is a specialty coffee roaster based in the City of Fairfax. We specialize in specialty-grade coffees with distinct flavors which are fairly traded and sustainably grown. We sell whole bean and ground coffee in 4 ounce, 12 ounce, 2 lb and 5 lb bags, as well as recyclable K-Cup pods compatible with all Keurig brewers.

Our founder, Scott has life-long passion for coffee. He started roasting at home in the mid-1990s with the help of a leading green coffee importer. He soon found himself exploring high-quality coffees from Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania. After years of roasting for friends, family, and community fundraisers, a trip to Japan and experiencing Kyoto’s specialty coffee scene rekindled his dream of roasting professionally. He started renting time on roasters at Giesen USA, took professional classes in green coffee evaluation, roasting and sensory skills, and purchased a production roaster. After extensive time spent honing his skills and consulting with coffee professionals on all aspects of the business, he began roasting professionally and founded Index Coffee in early 2021.
