We handcraft Appalachian straw brooms. We would love the opportunity to become a featured demonstrating artist for your show.
We do broom making demonstrations during the event. We wind straw onto the sticks using a foot-kicker winder that dates back to the turn of the century - it doesn’t even have any bearings! We also utilize a broom press to stitch our brooms. We also demonstrate the techniques of hand-broom making and handle weaving.
We have been interviewed twice by Kayla Jackson with WJTV in Jackson: once at the Pickle Festival at the MS Ag Museum and again at the Canton flea market.
We are featured artists with standing invitations to the MS Pecan Festival and all events held at Fulmer's Farmstead, all events held at the MS Ag Museum, the Oak Grove Barn Sale & Antique Auction, the AL Pecan Festival, all events held at Landrums Homestead & Village and Ripley Flea Market.
If you decide you'd like us as demonstrators, we will pay for 1 booth to sell out of and we ask that the fee for the 2nd booth be waived - the demo booth will need power. If we are not demonstrating, we would still like at least a single booth for which we will pay for.
Should you be interested in having us at your event, please contact me. We would love to hear from you.
