Florelie Farm
Vendor
Florelie is a local women-owned, "micro-urban" specialty cut flower & foliage farm, tended to using organic, no-till methods and on a human scale, without machinery. At Florelie, our mission is to grow high quality floral material to contribute towards a regional floral supply, and to provide farmer’s market go-ers, florists, wedding designers, people getting married and other flower loving individuals an alternative to the chemically driven global floral trade.

Laura Kesner
Hi! I’m Laura, the owner-operator of Florelie. I could write a novel about how I ended up here and how Florelie came to be, but I will spare you all the boring details.
The short of it is, I found myself “here” after a breakup with corporate Amazon. At first, growing flowers and foliage from seed was a hobby/something I did for therapy. I started gaining momentum throughout the community, and decided to start a small seasonal CSA, with another local grower. To our surprise, we quickly filled the limited spaces that we originally offered, and started growing more product to accommodate our “waitlist”.
I felt comfortable enough to expand a bit, and started offering florals + design services for small corporate events and weddings. Nearly 2 years to the day that I split from the “rat race”, I was approached by an individual from corporate Amazon looking to contract a florist + designer for a local event they were having. When you're following your intuition only acting on what feels truly aligned in your business and in your life, you inevitably start receiving signs and nods from the Universe confirming you're on the right track. It was precisely this point, that I vowed to never look back.
Florelie has been thriving ever since on the teeny tiny “urban”-micro lot that we’ve grown on from the beginning. Through our seasonal CSA offerings and the community’s support at the various farmers markets we hope to be at this season, we’re hoping to expand our growing space, and in doing so, expand our offerings each season.
This entire journey has ignited a flame that I wasn’t sure existed inside of me—a passion for our environment, the community and the realization of the importance of local agriculture. Thanks for being here with me.
