Artphoria Studio Garden

Artphoria Studio + Garden is a garden and creativity studio focusing on teaching through the lens of the natural world. We want to get children back in the dirt growing food and making mud pies! We bring hands on gardening, art projects and nature studies together to create creative themed classes like PONDS, FARIES and DASTARDLY PLANTS! We love mixing art with the natural world and are passionate about teaching the next generation how to grow food and why it is so important!
When I am not teaching, I am busing making! I love to use natural dyes to turn vintage or thrifted clothes into new treasures! I also love making one of a kind aprons for tiny people out of vintage fabrics! I have an obsession with recycled sari silks and have been making hair ties and fairy wands from them lately. You also might spot them in the garden tying up tomatoes ; )
You don't start an art studio without doing a little art yourself! So I began my art adventures sketching which led to oil painting which I still enjoy when I find the time. I also have been experimenting with growing plants for dying for the past couple of years and very much enjoy using botanical dyes to transform clothing. I love block printing and make cards with my designs on them. I also make hair ties and "fairy" wands from bamboo and colorful sari silks! I really just love creating and am heavily influenced by the seasons so my creations tend to change with the weather. I love to sew in the fall and winter as well as do lots of block printing. In spring and summer you may find me dying vintage clothes with plants and minerals, painting with natural pigments or creating something I've never tried before. Over the years I have learned to allow my creativity to come out as it pleases especially if it doesn't fit into the box they gave me after graduating high school ( wink wink ).
