Holistic Harvest Farms
Vendor
We are a third-generation family farm in Brooklyn Heights. We raise 100 alpacas and sell many alpaca products such as socks, hats, gloves, fiber, rovings, yarns and more. We utilize our alpaca manure to grow a crop of hemp, which after harvesting and drying is sent off to 2 different processors to be made into many products, such as gummies, tincture oils, muscle rub, hand cream, lip balm, pre-rolls and many more. All our hemp products are third party tested and legal in Ohio. We are a licensed grower, and I think the only licensed grower in Cuyahoga County. We use a processor in Bera (locally processed) to bottle and label 75 % of our CBD products.
We use only organic materials in raising our alpacas and growing our CBD hemp crop. No chemicals are used on the farm when the CBD hemp is growing. We do not EVER process any of our alpacas for meat...they are strictly fiber producing animals with the best life ever! Our hemp is grown in all organic "alpaca manure" which is like peatmoss on steroids... great for gardening! We are licensed growers of CBD hemp, and the only grower licensed in Cuyahoga County. We have ALL our products third party tested to make sure they conform to the state laws, and the state inspector comes to verify our crop before we harvest. We are proud members of the Ohio Farm Bureau, and I sit on the board of directors for the past 10 years. I am also the farm representative for District 1 NRAC (Natural Resource Assistance Council) which oversees the distribution of over 3 million dollars of the Cleanexpand the Emerald Necklace! Ohio Fund every year... helping our parks and conservation agencies to expand the Emerald Necklace! We do not support the "certification" process of the organic community as the fees are outrageous and the paperwork is extensive, we believe in being organic and no "certificate" is needed to have an honest and earth friendly farm!
Mrs. Kimberly Rassi
I am 61 years old, my husband is an army veteran, and he is 64. We do 90% of the farm work ourselves, but from time to time we have volunteers help, and a small crew with Dennis as our main farm hand (he does a fantastic job helping to keep the alpaca fields clean of manure) and Maddy our vet tech, who helps with the daily health issues of the animals and also with many of the duties with growing our crop of hemp. We have several good volunteers that help keep water buckets full and clean, animals fed and dry and hemp plants watered, trimmed and harvested. Our family has been in the greenhouse business for over 75 years or more...being one of the first greenhouses in Brooklyn Heights, once known as the Greenhouse Capital of America. My degree is in Forestry with a BS from Utah State University, and I have worked for the National Park Service, the Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management. we care deeply about our animals and also about the things we grow on our farm.
