Cardo's Sprout Farm

Established in 1979 as a Sprout operation we have never been anything but organic! Certified organic in the mid 80's by Texas Department of Agricultural (years before the USDA started certifying organic farms) as part of a push to certify farmers who were already farming organically, the program soon became too lenient for our tastes. When sprouters were required to treat all seed with a strong chlorine solution we not on!y quit the organic progam but we quit sprouting and turned to microgreens, wheatgrass and fruit growing. Today we call ourselves "farm certified" organic and working toward biodynamic certification, we offer peaches, pears, plums, persimmon, pomegranate, jujube, and a variety of micrograms, wheatgrass, salad mixes, vegetables and flowers! Future plans include pickling and drying our extras. We swipe too!
