About

We are a mobile craft coffee bar committed to refining our craft in outdoor settings. Our coffee is locally roasted each week, and we then grind and brew our coffee ON SITE maintaining the industry's best standards set forth by the Specialty Coffee Association. We DO NOT bring in pre-brewed coffee. Therefore, when you walk by our stand, you will smell the amazing aromas as we grind and brew and offer our patrons the very best coffee possible. In the Spring, we will be offering nitro coffee, nitro lattes and also have growlers so our customers can buy a cup and take a bottle with them for their outing or fridge. We sell our specialty coffee by the 12 oz bag, and grind the coffee to the customers' grind preference on site with our commercial grinder. We have partnered with Open Seas Coffee Roasters. This roaster maintains his Q-grader license through a para organization of the SCA, sources through many direct trade relationships and co-ops. Therefore our coffee producers on average receive double the C-stock value for their coffee. All of our farmers are shade grown and in the process of obtaining certification (which is costly and a lengthy process for them). 10% of all the coffee we sell goes toward the 10-4 Farmers Initiative which brings water filtration and hygiene training to villagers in need in Laos. We source from other vendors, where possible, for other supplies such as milk, honey, cider etc. On a final note, we strive to always reduce waste and think consciously about our paper products and sample cups. We are working with the Green Restaurant Association, an international nonprofit organization, to become a certified green establishment in 2019 and will update this profile when that is achieved.

I am 39 and a mother of three beautiful children. I left my International Health career when my second child was born, during which time our family left Africa and returned to the US for my husband's prior military career. Motherhood has been empowering, and has emboldened me to start my own business. It has given me the courage to do something creative and authentic, and to create something that helps meet our family's own economic needs while serving the interest and empowering others around the world. I'd like my children to grow up witnessing first hand that both endeavors can be achieved in the same race, and that you can totally geek out for your passion, and have fun doing it!

I've been a coffee lover all my life and have had coffee on every continent. Specialty coffee is something I have always sought out. Beginning a coffee shop was a bucket list dream, but that dream became a reality when I met Bryce of Open Seas in 2018, and saw firsthand his financial commitment to the coffee producers he works with and the roasting standards he maintains. I knew he was the perfect partner. Mount Vernon Farmers Market was our first "home" and we are now at the Old Town Farmers Market. Many of those who work with us are volunteers who just enjoy our mission and being in the markets with us. I have two staff, both of whom are moms as well. I had the initial vision for this, but they are the ones who have brought us to where we are now.
