Blue Dot Watercolor is named after our tiny planet, which the late Carl Sagan termed, “The Pale Blue Dot.” Artist Kelsey Johnson is also a professional astrophysicist, and she aspires to share her love of our universe through artwork. She creates artwork in her home studio in rural Virginia, surrounded by bountiful nature and the chaos of 3 children, 2 large dogs, 2 cats, and a whole bunch of fish.

She creates artwork in her home studio in rural Virginia, surrounded by bountiful nature and the chaos of 3 children, 2 large dogs, 2 cats, and a whole bunch of fish. She founded the award-winning Dark Skies Bright Kids outreach program, and she has also published a children's book on constellations, and has a TED talk with over 2 million views. She is currently serving as president of the American Astronomical Society.
