Beyond Barcodes Bookstore, located on Indy’s near east side, a Black-owned, woman run bookstore with a curated collection of books highlighting themes from social justice to the arts, offers books by and or about people of color-around the world and programming like BLACK SCRIBBLE: Where Black Boys Write-a writing club centered around black boys.

Our mission is to connect readers with books that have the power to build close-knit community, bound together through common language, standing on common ground.
We have seven years of experience sharing books, conversation and space with central Indiana communities who testify that our bookstore and the programming we offered in the community brought them closer together, regardless of their backgrounds, histories, value systems or ideas
