Harmony Zero Waste Market
Vendor
Our primary goal is to help the general public reduce the amount of waste they produce in their daily lives. This includes helping shoppers reduce the amount of packaging waste they produce when shopping for food as well as providing zero waste alternatives to the disposable items consumers use everyday. We carry a variety of food items, all sold in bulk and package free. Customers can bring your own container to fill or pay a deposit to use one of ours, the deposit is fully refunded when they bring back the container. Our nonfood items, also sold package free, are meant to replace household items that are typically used only a few times and then throw away, with items that are reusable and plastic free.
Erin Rehm
Currently, Harmony is run solely by me (Erin Rehm). At my day job I work in animal nutrition, having studied animal science in college, and currently set up Harmony's stands on my days off. I started Harmony because I wanted to find a way to help the world move towards a sustainable future. Its creation was spurred on by the issues surrounding pollution, waste, agriculture, and energy. By setting up at different markets I hope to offer consumers a way to shop waste-free and show them ways to reduce their waste at home. Long term, I would like to open a full size waste and emissions free grocery store but for now I just sell at markets around the Central Florida area. The credit for Harmony also belongs to my friend, Sean Reischel, who has and continues to help develop and improve Harmony.
