2J's SMOKIN' BBQ was inspired by our daughters Journie and Jade. They both love our family BBQ's and enjoy eating their father's smoked ribs, chicken and brisket. Our daughters also love their mother's sweet potato pies, pumpkin pies and several different cakes. Therefore, we have decided to not only share our inspiration with only family and friends, but also share some of our smoked meats and sweet treats with the rest of the bay area.
My husband and I are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters. We were blessed to have our second daughter in February of 2022. We also both worked in law enforcement for fifteen years. After the birth of our second daughter, we decided it was best for me to stay home with the baby. Once we began this new journey, it allowed both of us a little extra time to explore our passions of barbeque and baking. It initially started when we discovered our newborn loves her mother’s sweet potatoes. Also, our oldest daughter loves when her father smokes ribs, chicken, or brisket. Due to the new freedom and a little extra time, I decided to branch out and sell some sweet potato pies at local markets, beginning in July of 2022. To our delight and surprise, we sold a lot of pies and received positive reviews from local customers. After seeing the success of the pies, my husband decided to also test out his skills and sell barbeque and local markets and events in our area. We started selling smoked chicken, smoked ribs, and smoked sausage and again, we received positive reviews and customers enjoyed our food. Due to this success and our love of serving others, we had the bright idea to turn this into a business.
