Jambo African Cuisine (JAC) is owned and operated by Aminatha Mkama. It’s a Swahili inspired which will serve clients desiring authentic Eastern African Cuisine. JAC seeks to meet the needs of the varied and growing ethnicity of the greater Des Moines and surrounding cities by being the first to offer authentic Swahili foods. The food prepared is at its original inspiration concept. The outlook for the future of the greater Des Moines and surrounding cities is exceptionally positive and deemed the most progressive development area in the state with the diversified population as the result of the state Commercial, Residential, and Retail development plan. We intend to succeed by giving our customers a combination of delicious and interesting food in an appealing environment, with excellent customer service, whether on their first visit or their hundredth

The value of ones passion is something that I have understood at a
very young age. Neither of my parents had an opportunity to pursue
their dream which was cooking and faced many struggles in their
personal and professional lives because of this. They made a
commitment early in my life to do everything within their power to
instill in me a love of learning and and understanding the
importance of hard working, dedication and pursuit of happiness using
passion and my own gifts. I immigrated in the US over 15 years ago
and realize early on that I must sacrifice and work hard to make sure
I'm achieving my dream cultural food and transformation. I have been
able to devote the time and energy necessary to accomplishment
this through cities fairs, events, weddings, etc.
