About

A small lavender farm in eastern N.C. The farm has been in the Castleberry family since 1860 growing some type of crop such as tobacco or soy beans. We recently started a small lavender crop and are selling sachets and bouquets as we start the business. We hope to eventually produce essential lavender oil.

Manager

Kathy Rainey
Kathy and her oldest son, Cole started planting lavender at their family farm in 2020 after researching what types of crops would do best in hot, dry and arid conditions. The Castleberry farm has been in Kathy's mother's family since the 1860 with tobacco and soy beans being the major products. Kathy and Cole are trying new ideas for the historic property and looking at ways to expand their products in the lavender business.
