I am Julia Selzler, owner and maker of Thimbleberry Candle Co. All of our candles are hand poured in Genesee, ID in small batches of 6-12 at a time. Our candles are made with soy wax for a long and clean burn.
I started making candles because I wanted a candle that was not paraffin, burned longer than 3 days, and wasn't overly expensive. I couldn't find anything locally. After a couple of years, and many bad candles, I was able to create a soy candle with a cotton wick, smelled just like I wanted, was reasonably priced, and burned for over 40 hours. At Christmas, I gave several candles away as gifts, and several people asked where they could purchase them. With the help of my husband and sister, we launched Thimbleberry Candle Co in September of 2021.
