Bria Day
As a career-driven, community-supporting, design-loving, baking enthusiast, Bria Day works at Cigna and spends mornings, nights, and weekends building Disheveled Diva®, a bespoke and wholesale “cloud bakery”. Known for the highest quality ingredients (and local, when available), fun-loving designs and colors, and Signature Buttercream, Disheveled Diva provides delicious indulgences in the finer things in life: delicious sweets and treats, community impact, and embracing life’s “disheveled diva” imperfections (because aren’t we all a bit ‘disheveled’ and ‘diva’?).
After years of baking and entertaining friends and family, in 2018, Bria began pairing a passion in the kitchen with a passion for philanthropy. Leveraging the power of social media and word of mouth, she began fundraising for nonprofits in which she was already in leadership roles by gifting 'thank you' cakes and treats for qualifying donations. Organizations that have benefitted from Disheveled Diva’s delicious charity are notably those that empower women and girls like Girls on the Run Greater Hartford and Junior League of Hartford.
After raising thousands of dollars and, in the midst of a global pandemic, Disheveled Diva launched as a Cottage Food Operation in late 2020 and, in early 2022, expanded to include a Commercial Operation (operating out of Berkins on Main inside the Wadsworth Atheneum in downtown Hartford), allowing the business to expand its product portfolio and selling strategy.
Disheveled Diva's treats serve anywhere from one to many and events small to large, bringing smiles to faces and joy to eyes and bellies. A portion of Disheveled Diva’s profits continue to be donated to support the local community.
