About

1690 Farm (formerly, The Lamb's Quarter) is a colonial era family farm raising grass-fed beef, pork, and lamb. Our free-range poultry products include eggs, chicken and turkeys. We raise over 3 dz. different vegetables, without synthetic chemicals or fertilizers. James Bourne, the farmer/owner, has been recognized within the local agricultural community for his commitment to land stewardship and farming sustainability. We work with nature to produce great tasting food for your table. We keep our animals on pasture, believing that green grass, clean water, and sunshine are nature's best health tonics. It's a difference you can taste!

We believe nature is the best model to follow. While we'd rather talk about the things we do, there are certain things we don't do or use, like antibiotics, steroids, GMO grain, feedlot confinement. We use seasonally appropriate housing and pasture management, rotational grazing, humane animal handling, and daily pasture moves for our chickens.
