I’m a 24 year old creator, I was born and raised on the westside of Detroit, Michigan. Growing up my hair was very thick and hard to manage at times so I would get perms and get my hair straightened often. Being “natural” wasn’t really a thing at the time, society pushed the beauty standard that straight hair was really the only way to be “presentable”.

As I got older I noticed how damaged my hair was and wanted a change. In 2015 I decided to start my natural hair journey and get my hair back healthy. Fast forward to July of 2020, I wanted my hair to grow longer and maintain it’s healthy state so I did a lot of research to create the perfect product, I was experimenting for awhile and Wallah ! I finally came up with a product that worked to help me with growth and moisture but I wasn’t just thinking about me I instantly thought about how I could help so many women that struggle with various scalp conditions. I want women to feel confident wearing their natural hair but most of all I want them to see what having healthy hair looks and feels like:

People that would support me on social media always loved my curly hair and wondered what I used to keep it looking so healthy and full so I started selling my hair growth butter locally and surprisingly I got a lot of support. I stopped selling locally a few months later due to me taking care of my mental health, I was going through a lot of stress and changes during that time so it was hard for me to solely focus on my business, I had no choice but to take a step back. Towards the end of 2020 I took the steps to get a llc open a business bank account and purchase my website domain to be able to launch my site. I worked hard behind the scenes creating high quality products for women who have had a hard time finding products that work for them. I was also having fears of launching my site so I would push my launch date back. I finally built the courage to officially launch my website www.theimaniaaliyah.com on July, 31st of 2021 and it was extremely exciting but scary at the same time!
