Lucky Strike
Vendor
Lucky Strike was the first authentic Sichuan Restaurant in Portland. It opened in 2008 in a tiny space in outer southeast. It gained popularity quickly for it's combination of fresh local ingredients and authentic pungent flavor. It was named one of the best restaurants in Portland by Portland Monthly magazine in the year 2009. It had closed its door late 2015 due to lease ending and personal reasons , but it is now again making a come back by series of Pop Up events around Portland.

I am a Sichuan Native who came to Portland for college in the year of 2000. I felt in love with the city and the people instantly. After graduating from college, I decided to reside here, and only frustration I had was the lack food from my hometown Chengdu, Sichuan. So my husband Stefan Leopold( a Portland Native) and I decided to open Lucky Strike in 2008, the very first Sichuan restaurant in the city of Roses. Unfortunately we had to end that journey in 2015, after our first daughter was born, so I can spend more time with family. During the 3 years absent from the food theme in Portland, I still hear lots of voices asking about LS, and whether we would be opening another restaurant anytime soon. That being said, We decided to do some Pop Ups late 2015, and the responses has been overwhelmingly heart warming. But still being a mom of two, it would be far reach for me to pick up an entire restaurant all over again. But I think a space at the farmer's market on saturday would be perfect fit for me to bring LS back to the city and be able to spend time with family as well.
