I am a Virginia Historian and small scale Perfumer, specializing in hand-made, all-natural and historically-accurate fragrances. I grew up in the historic area of Colonial Williamsburg and love to share my knowledge of traditional household skills.
About 10 years ago, I fell in love with natural cosmetics. I started reading all I could find on this subject, including many hours in rare books libraries. I started researching and recreating scents worn by notable Virginians (including Dolley Madison and George Washington). My training has also included mentorships in Natural Perfume Making in Bermuda and California. As far as I know, I am the only Natural Perfumer in Virginia, and likely the only one on the East Coast.
I partner with organic Virginia growers who supply my heirloom variety flowers and use traditional (and vegan) methods to create exciting fragrances.
In addition to my bottled liquid perfumes, my product line has recently expanded to include talc-free body powders.
Rebecca Suerdieck is an award-winning Historian and specialist in traditional life skills. Over the last 10 years, she has researched and recreated fragrances worn by notable Virginians.
Little by little, her niche in natural fragrances has grown. She educates anyone who will listen - and especially loves delighting Market Visitors with the variety of scents available then and now.
The last few years allowed her to pursue more research and experimentation - and this is promising to be the best year yet.
With the growing interest in natural health and chemical-free living, her products are on-trend and in demand.
When not making and selling natural cosmetics, she hosts workshops on Natural Perfume Making.
