About

Our Mission is to empower dog handlers in our community through education and support. We coach you, the dog owner, through concepts based on a primal understanding of dogs as pack animals. We believe in confident leadership based on effective communication, self awareness and a calm mindset for happier and healthier relationships with dogs. We show our dogs Love through Leadership, Trust and Respect.

Mountain Spirit K9 offers balanced dog training for on and off leash obedience and behavioral modification for dogs of all ages, breeds and temperaments. We believe in a primal understanding of dogs to fulfill their innate needs and drives while setting them up for success in a human world. In order to achieve this, we coach our clients on effective communication. In order to feel confident, calm and understood with your dog, we set clear expectations. We show you how to lead with calmness in order to promote healthy mindsets and prevent and/or treat reactivity issues. Our goal is for our clients to become confident leaders of their pack.

Our support begins as early as your decision to welcome a dog into your family. We start with educational programs and tips for setting your puppy up for success for a happy, safe and healthy transition into life with you. Our services include but, are not limited to: private sessions, on and off leash obedience, pack walks/group sessions, field trips and boarding for when our clients can’t travel with their pets.

We see training as a lifestyle and are focused on supporting our clients through each transition so that success from our program is lifelong. Training as a lifestyle provides dogs with a healthy mind and body.

Manager

Alexandria Knapp
Alexandria has a background in Physical Therapy. ( I am a part time Physical Therapist at Foothills Physical Therapy on State Street in Eagle).
In order to prepare for becoming a Canine Rehabilitation Specialist, she discovered education opportunities with dog trainers to learn about canine psychology, behavior and dog handling skills. On that journey she took a detour in her education and went on to further study balanced training with a speciality in behavioral rehabilitation for dogs with fear, aggression and reactivity. She completed an education course with Method K9, the worlds leading behavioral dog trainer. Since opening Mountain Spirit K9, she fell in love with working with dog owners through education and support in order to make life easier and more enjoyable with dogs. Dog training became a way to further connect with her community and give back by empowering others to have relationships that allow safe freedom with your dog.
