I make handmade pet carrier and multi-purpose market bag totes. I got the idea when my Yorkie would get so tired when I walked him, that I ended up carrying him halfway through our walks. I wanted something light weight, sturdy, and stylish to comfortably carry him in when he got tired. I took a few sewing courses, bought a sewing machine, reviewed numerous YouTube tutorials, fought through the learning process, made several prototypes, and figured the best two styles I wanted to launch with. I started this business 2020, but officially launched my site Christmas Day 2021. I make every bag with love, double stitched, using custom patches I designed myself. I know my product will spread love and offer comfort to many pets and people. I initially started just making pet carriers but have expanded to add a multipurpose line which offers great functionality while being mindful of the environment by reusing a durable tote. These market bags offer various design styles and patterned linings, and are reversible. Tyler's Totes has something for everybody and we proudly represent our city with our Detroit line of totes.
Every tote is handmade. I use heavyweight canvas and cut each pattern myself. I use custom patches that I designed myself, and sew on each bag. Once the bag is constructed I also grommet them myself and attach straps.
I am a one woman show. I do it all. I graduated from Wayne State University with a double concentration in Fine Art and Electronic Art. I am naturally wired as a creative. My love for my dog brought my creativity to a crossroads with the implementation of great design, ergonomic conscienceness for both pet and owner, and one of a kind style. My totes truly offer a greater closeness and comfort that are not available for pets and owners currently.
