I am currently finishing my Ph.D. in Microbiology & Immunology at Wayne State University. After many years, I picked up knitting and crochet again in order to improve my mental health during the pandemic and to deal with the stress of writing my dissertation. I rediscovered the joy in creating beautiful, functional, wearable art. I gravitate towards bright colors and unique color combinations in my knitted items. I feel strongly about using natural fibers whenever possible, so most of my knitted items are made of wool blends or 100% merino wool. My crocheted washcloths are made of 100% cotton, cotton/linen blends, and a cotton/hemp blend. I strive to make sure all my creations are useful, yet pleasing to look at and to touch.
