Founded in 2017 Sammamish Farms is a minimal soil disturbance market garden. Known best as salad specialists, though the farm grows over 60 varieties of annual vegetables and raises a small flock of chickens. Located between Redmond and Woodinville, the "Sammamish" place name honors the local river and the heron's which call it home. The farm was founded by Erik Goheen, a Lake City local who developed a passion for healthy habitat alongside human development as a child exploring Thornton Creek and the other wild places in Northeast Seattle. Sammamish Farms is excited to be vending this season at the Lake CIty Market!

Our farm utilizes low-till cultivation techniques with light equipment. Our team is passionate about striking balance with the living world and discovering new species on our farm each season. We sparingly integrate organically approved treatments to our production to produce top quality fresh vegetables. Our chickens are free-range on seasonally rotated pastures, serving as both a fertilizing crew and enthusastic pest controlers. We rotate our crops, and practice season extension in our fields with permanent raised beds, row covers, and nearly 7500 square feet of indoor growing space.
Claire is the primary market vendor for the 2022 season. She joined the team in 2021 as a seasonal intern and developed her passions for plant-based eating and skill set in customer service before becomming a fixture on the SF team. A Redmond High alumni who returned post college from studying fashion in Pennsylvania, she is passionate about fashion, reducing wasteful consumer habits, and eating great plant-based food. We're thrilled to have her back for 2022 and you can always brighten her day with a fresh bouquet at the end of the market :-)
