Located only 6 miles away, we strive to provide the people of Richmond with the most local, most delicious, beautiful produce raised using sustainable methods. We are minimum till, we love our pollinators, and use only organic approved methods while striving to exceed organic standards. Paired with Goatocado restaurant we are diverting food waste from the restaurant into our compost to create a rich and nutrient dense compost to feed our crops and we look forward to growing this aspect of our farm and diverting as much food waste as we can into our compost to produce the highest quality vegetables.
We strive to integrate organic and sustainable methods of vegetable production by directing compostable food scraps and packaging from local restaurants to produce a compost rich in quality. We aim to utilize local carbon sources such as the hay fields of our neighbors for use in compost and as organic mulches for use in a low till system. In addition to low tillage, we also utilize cover cropping with soil enriching legumes and grasses throughout the growing season. Our holistic approach also includes encouraging natural pollinators on site through our plantings of perennial and annual flowering plants and and Integrated Pest Management System for our crop. We strive to exceed USDA organic standards and are in the process of getting a CNG certification
