small family grain farm. 550 acres total. 230 acres certified organic (the rest transitioning to organic) sweet corn, flour corn, popcorn, wheat, oats, soybeans, buckwheat, peas, sunflowers. Many heirloom variety specific flours milled in small batches. Grain cleaning and stone flour mill (and roller mill) on farm, allowing entire process of growing, cleaning, storage and milling of products without leaving farm.

We grow heirloom organic varieties of corn, popcorn, wheat, buckwheat, oats and sunflowers as well as a few modern varieties including soybeans and peas. We also process them into small batch, fresh milled variety specific flours and meals. All done on the farm. My daughter (currently in culinary school) also goes one more step and makes these into breads, cookies, soft pretzels and more.

I'm a fifth generation farmer in Grundy county Illinois. My wife Karen helps with orders and packaging on the farm full time. Luke (#1 son, second from right) helps full time mostly with growing and processing crops, Seth (#2 son & wife Anna far left) currently lives out of state working as a flight instructor, but both help when home, Joel (#3 son, far right) is in college and spends summers at home helping in fields and processing, Sarah (daughter next to Karen and I) is in culinary school and spends summers at home helping everywhere and manning our booth at Green City
