CAMPO COLLECTIVE
Farmer
Campo Collective is a cooperatively owned, no-till, bilingual farm in Hillsboro, Oregon. Our work is rooted in hands-on farming, mobilizing agricultural workers, and looking for sustainable models of living and working through cooperative ownership and the building up of healthy soils to grow healthy food. We work in agriculture with agroecology as our guiding principle. We grow a diverse mix of vegetables, strawberries, berries, perennial herbs and fruit trees.
Permaculture Design Perennial Crops Use Only Organic Materials Non Gmo Holistic Management Cover Crops No Till Integrated Pest Management Crop Rotation
We describe our practices as beyond organic, as we take our work to steward the soil to another level by maintaining the soil population and microbial life by using liquid fertility and amendments, making our own mineral fertilizers, and using no-till practices in order to ensure our soil. We cover crop and mulch, use tarping, no tillage, and integrate perennial crops and pollinator habitats with a rotation of annual crops. We also practice low irrigation to dry-farming for certain crops.
