Food has always been a "family passion"...in 2006 we opened a barbeque restaurant - Outlaws Bar-B-Q - on the shores of Panama City in North Florida. We were voted Best of Bay 2006-2016 (a coveted award each year) by the residents of Bay County. Boat Captains would frequent our restaurant and many requested that we smoke some of their fish (as we had large, double door smokers). They would offer to give us half the fish for smoking the rest of their catch. Well, soon we had to come up with a way to use this delicious smoked fish...thus our Smoked Fish Dip line was created! After 10 successful years as restaurateurs, we decided to sell and return home to Central Florida to pursue expansion of our popular Smoked Fish Dips and create a new venture - Captain Jo's Smoked Fish Dips!
We had heard of the massive popularity of local Farmers Markets and felt this grass roots approach would give us the best opportunity to grow and perfect our products to the wants and dietary needs of today's consumers. Over the past 5 years, our main objective has been to create healthier options while maintaining the same delicious flavors. Since that time we have grown from our first local market, Winter Garden Farmers Market, to expanding throughout North, Central and South Florida with the addition of several trusted family members. We currently offer our products in these Farmer's Markets: Winter Garden, Winter Park, The Villages, Lake Eola, Mt. Dora, Windermere, Hyde Park and Lakeland. We are fully licensed by the DOA, Insured and have a full production kitchen.
All fish are WILD CAUGHT, fully sustainable seafood and authentically wood smoked. NO fillers, NO added artificial preservatives, NO sugar, Gluten Free and GMO Free. Our Tuna, King and Wahoo are caught locally off the east coast of Central Florida! We have embraced a new approach to our product line which we believe now sets us a part from other fish dip producers. We have perfected recipes that are now KETO friendly, Atkins friendly, reduced fat and calorie and Dairy free options. We smoke our fish with mild sweet woods (to prevent heart burn), chop and blend with organic herbs and seasonings then mix into 2 different bases. Our dairy free option (Yellow Fin Tuna dip) utilizes a non GMO Olive Oil Mayo consisting of all organic ingredients and antibiotic free eggs. Our reduced fat and calorie option (Salmon, King, Wahoo, Crab) utilizes a base of Neufchatel Cream Cheese which is one-third lower in fat and calories. We are so excited to introduce our NEW Crab Cake line which compliments our variety of Fish Dips! Where we differ from any other crab cake producer is that our crab cakes contain NO FILLERS...just delicious blue crab!! NO bread or crackers! The only binding agents we use are finely ground bread crumb and antibiotic free eggs (which reduces fat, calories and carbohydrates greatly). But what truly sets us a part is that we offer a GLUTEN FREE option which is just as delicious as our traditional option! Each package contains two 5 oz. Crab Cakes, fresh frozen and garnished with a slice of orange and lemon
