My name is Bill i am the owner operator of Strope Farms LLC i have been farming all my life with my family mainly cattle and hay in 2011 i decided to start growing vegetables because i recently had surgery to help with my disability "cerebral palsy" and couldn't take care of the cattle at the time so my journey began in the horticulture world started selling to people locally at local farmers markets and restaurants and here at the farm i believe it was 2015 when i started at the Columbia Farmers Market in the summer of 2018 over dinner at a friends i decide to go back to school in the fall at State Tech in Linn for Commercial Turf And Grounds this was scary for me being i was 32 years old at the time and had not been to college since like 2008 but i wanted to learn more about plants flowers especially i also found another interest while there Golf course maintenance the summer 2019 was different because i wasn't selling at the the Columbia Farmers Market like years past i was on my internship at a golf course i had to internship to graduate and i wanted to try something new while working at the course my family kept the business going in the fall of 2019 i new i was going to expand my business into nursery greenhouse side of things after graduating in may of 2020 that's what i did in the summer 2020 i returned to the Columbia Farmers Market selling mums and other flowers i am also enrolled at Colorado State University online for a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Horticulture, Horticultural Business Management Degree please if you have any question's or just want to chat feel free to reach out to me or stop by our booth at the markets
