Ersilia Design creates reusable textile home goods in Portsmouth NH. Botanical dyes and reclaimed fabrics add pops of colors for fun, functional and sturdy products.
I use 100% cotton and organic cotton fabric to manufacture my products, currently transitioning the fabric stock to reclaimed materials to save fabric from being discarded. Cutting down on the businesses emissions is very important to me: the studio is operating on renewable energy, and most of the fabric waste gets composted.
Plastic bags are getting banned in a lot of local municipalities but the plastic produce bags provided by most markets escape scrutiny; I provide locally made, reusable, washable produce bags to amend that.
Focused on zero waste living, my products include plant dyed or block printed market and produce bags, paperless towels, handkerchiefs, reusable cotton rounds, plant dyed cotton napkins, and zero waste kits.
The concept of Ersilia Design was born during my first New England winter. I started working with natural yarns, fabric, and botanical dyes. Ever since, it has been developing to channel my passion for eco-friendly handmade products that are colorful, practical, and hold up to wear.
It is so rewarding to raise awareness about plastic pollution and offer alternatives and tools to achieve a lifestyle with less disposable waste!
