1841 Farm

Started in February 2021 we have converted a horse farm into a productive and healthy food ecosystem. In 2021 we started with a small number of livestock (pigs, poultry, and sheep) to till, and fertilize the grounds that this season will be used for select variety of vegetables and flowers. We grew mushrooms and micro-greens in 2021 and plan to continue and expand on that production. The farms goal is to have a sustainable and diverse operation where the number of animals and crops are never too many to overwhelm the biosphere of the property. We farm in a holistic management way as prescribed by the Holistic Management Institute rotating crops and using rotational grazing. We also invite migratory wildlife and pollinators to act on the production that takes place on the farm. We have no certifications at this time, but never introduce inputs that are not approved to be organic and never administer hormones or unnecessary antibiotics to our livestock. With our livestock we abide by Animal Welfare approved standards.
