Ten Square International (TSI) specializes in developing solutions for global clients, focusing on agricultural equipment, Ag policies/protocols, food technology and methodologies. For over 32 years, we have exported US-manufactured Ag equipment primarily to China and Europe. TSI has assisted a local BBQ Sauce company owned by a U.S. veteran African-American to expand its market including China, Taiwan, and Japan. We are currently assisting a local tofu manufacturing plant located in Des Moines with its operations and marketing. TSI has recommended to the tofu company various marketing strategies which include participating in community events as well as executing marketing campaigns to further expand its markets. We feel this also addresses the need for a diverse Asian cuisine at our Des Moines Farmers' Market as well as other community events. Though Covid pandemic has significantly reduced these event opportunities, we did have the opportunity to participate in the recent Des Moines Asian Festival with our hot tofu dish and it was a huge success, selling out each day even when we increased the quantity for the next day. TSI believes we will see the same response at the Des Moines Farmers' Market this upcoming season.
I am the Director of Operations and Marketing for TSI. My tenure with the company started over 8 years ago, managing the logistics of our operations. TSI has arranged many delegations from China and other countries to visit our great State and to work with Mayor Cownie on several agricultural and business endeavors. I have worked with Terry Branstad while he was our Governor and recently as U.S. Ambassador to China. I also had the pleasure to work with him while I was employed at the University of Iowa's Alumni Services as VP of Marketing. Before coming to TSI, I was the Deputy Director for the State's telecommunication agency known as Iowa Communications Network (ICN), which links all the schools, libraries, homeland security and other state government agencies with fiber-optics. While I was at ICN, I worked closely with Governor Reynolds. I hold a M.B.A in both IT and Marketing from Washington University in St. Louis as well as a B.A. in Psychology (Behavior Modification) from University of Connecticut. I did own a successful restaurant in Cedar Rapids and earned my way through college as a chef at a country club. I established a marketing firm in Cedar Rapids. I am also proud to say that I’m an author and illustrator of three children’s books, which all have earned national awards. My latest children’s book will be released in March 2022.
