Yesenia Sanchez Oates
My name is Yesenia Sanchez Oates. My husband and I proudly grow the official Oregon State fruit: pears in Hood River County on our family farm. My love of growing food and connecting to the earth came my grandmother, Esperanza. My husband is a third generation pear farmer from Parkdale, Oregon. He grew up with a love of farming and is an amazing horticulturist.
Previously, I spent six years in International Business at a tech company in Columbia Gorge. I currently serve on the board of directors for the Hood River County Education Foundation and on the Board of Education for the Columbia Gorge Community College. I have a bachelors in International Business with a specialization in Diversity, Citizenship and Social Justice from Seattle University.
