Quilling is the art of paper filigree. Using paper strips, a delicate visual art is created. This art form can be traced back to medieval times before the invention of the printing press. Nuns once decorated the handwritten pages of the Bible with this filigree. They used a bird quill to roll the paper into the delicate shapes.
