Alafia Mara is a 26-year-old fiber and embroidery artist and illustrator.
Alafia’s works focus on rebuilding heritage, home, health, family, and nature. Works are made sustainably through reclaimed materials and natural processes, with special attention always paid to beauty and embellishment.
Each piece is handmade in Alafia’s Atelier in the Avondale neighborhood of Jacksonville, Florida.

A 26-year-old fiber artist from Atlanta, GA with a BFA in textiles from GSU, now loving living in Riverside! Alafia works part-time as an interior decorator and substitute teacher after a thrilling and exhausting short career as an elementary art teacher from 2019-2021, and part-time as a professional fine artist.
