Whiskey Hill Turnings
Vendor
Since retiring from careers in education, my sister and I have been able to pursue our interest in wood turning and quickly realized that if we didn't find an outlet for some of our pieces of work would soon be crowded out of our homes. So, we applied to become a vendor at the Waco Downtown Farmers Market and have thoroughly enjoyed participating. We grew up on Whiskey Hill near Axtell, Texas and that's how the business name came about.
Dusty Lane, Barbara Lane, and Debbie Richards
My husband, Dusty keeps us supplied with wood and blanks for turning and turns when he has time. My sister Debbie, lives in Bryan, Texas and Dusty and I still live on Whiskey Hill. Our turned pieces are made from local reclaimed woods. The wood we use comes from brush piles, power line clearing, firewood, and trees downed in storms. That's why most of our pieces have flaws such as insect damage, cracks, and other irregularities. No two pieces are ever alike.
