Wild Rose Ghee
Vendor
We are a one woman-owned, small-batch, grass-fed herbal ghee company based in the Portland, Oregon. Wild Rose Ghee takes to heart values that honor dairy cows, regeneration of our earth, our community, and one another. In an effort to help foster and maintain change, we gratefully source ingredients from dedicated dairy farmers and plant harvesters who prioritize sustainable land and livestock management. Our intention is to create a nourishing, healthy staple food in the spirit of quality and sustainability, two pillars we consider necessary in the future of our collective health and wellbeing.
Our ghee is produced in small batches from traditionally cultured butter sourced from cows who live on green pastures, resulting in a nutritionally dense staple food gentler on the system than normal dairy & rich in vitamins and minerals. With traditional Ayurvedic practices in mind, we have mindfully selected each ingredient to ensure we are paying proper tribute to the roots of this food. While our product is designed to be used as a staple food product and cooking oil, it is also medicinally crafted for certain indications and purposes. We currently offer seven flavors, in addition to plain, traditional ghee.
Aleya Burg
Hello! I am Aleya, operator and founder of Wild Rose Ghee. This business started out as a capstone project two years ago and shifted to a business plan after I graduated and put my Master's program on hold due to the pandemic. This company, this product, these herbs, they sing to me. I leapt into this venture with the intention of blending two worlds I love dearly: herbalism & cooking. I have been making my meals from scratch since I can remember. Treating food as ritual has always been a constant centerpiece in my life. When I discovered the magical kingdom of herbalism several years ago, I didn’t see any other option than to alchemize the two. What came of that was Wild Rose Ghee.
At the forefront of this vision of mine came mindfulness, beginning with how the ingredients are grown and sourced all the way to how the product is acquired and consumed by the customer. I prioritize the highest level of awareness that what we eat directly results in our quality of life. Each product created is a chance to invest in this quality; an opportunity to nourish and heal the body while bringing focus to the mind and soul. It is also an opportunity to choose sustainable and regenerative ingredients while supporting the good guys - the ethical dairy farmers (yes, they exist), wild plant harvesters/growers and sustainable bee keepers. To me, this is the only sustainable option as a business whose primary priority is to consider our footprint and maintain respect for the earth and its inhabitants.
