About

Strawflower is nestled in-between the vegetables on a small patch of Full Cellar Farm in Boring, OR. We value working together to foster healthy relationships between the farm and the plant, animal, and human communities that surround it. Growing flowers that are rooted in our local ecosystem for the community. I focus on choosing varieties that are not found in grocery store bouquets because they are too fragile and difficult to grow on large conventional farms. This produces bouquets that perfectly capture what is in bloom in Portland at any moment in time. Bringing the unique beauty of Oregon summers into people's homes.

Production Practices

At Strawflower Farm we do not use any artificial chemicals and our growing practices strive to build-up soil structure, conserve water, encourage native insects and birds, and increase diversity.

Manager

Rachael Crane
Rachael is an Ohio transplant who has lived in Portland for almost seven years now. After graduating from The Ohio State University with a degree in wildlife management, Rachael discovered her love for farming during an internship at an educational farm. In Oregon Rachael has worked at a variety of different farm operations, from an alpaca ranch to a vegetable CSA operation before starting Strawflower Farm in the summer of 2020. She is passionate about farming as a way to connect with the natural landscape and bring people together. She cannot wait to share her flowers with you and your home! When she’s not farming Rachael can be found hiking, knitting, rearranging all of her furniture for no reason other than it feels good, and cuddling all shapes and sizes of chihuahuas.
