The Thinker

The Thinker (2019)

"The Thinker" is inspired by the original bronze sculpture "The Thinker" by Auguste Rodin. What do black girls think about that takes them on a journey for beauty and acceptance. This journey begins at a young age, bombarded with media images of European standards of beauty that lead to feelings of inadequacy and self-hate. For the darker women of color, it's a journey that finds them lost, confused, and hurting the most or one that grows to fight for the souls of others. (The Souls of Black Girls - Transcript)
