Jubilee Day. In recognition of Juneteenth, this painting titled “Jubilee Day” is inspired by a celebratory renewal of black emancipation and the strong bond with America’s history and her yet to be fulfilled promise of black futures commensurate with the log suffering efforts of their ancestors. Juneteenth is celebrated annually on June 19 throughout the United States, with varying official recognition. It is commemorated on the anniversary date of the June 19, 1865 announcement by Union Army general Gordon Granger, proclaiming freedom from slavery in Texas. (Limited Edition - 250)
