Immigrant to the United States in 2002,I began my career in the food service industry working with Tyson Foods and learning all about food production.then went on to work for Iowa’s own West Liberty Foods, where I furthered experience in food service management and food preparation working as a team lead in a meat processing facility. Additional experience came with work in fish production with some employment in Alaska’s own Dutch Harbor.
Moving to Davenport, Iowa in 2007, I, in true entrepreneurial spirit, begen my own business creating a mobile food cart, serving savory marinated chicken and steak shish kabobs to Davenport and Iowa City residents. then expanded my business to Des Moines, serving local metro area residents delicious Mediterranean cuisine adding chicken and lamb gyros to his menu.
The dream came to fruition a year later in 2010 when I purchased the first green food truck giving it the name Karam’s Mediterranean Grill. Since that time,I enjoyed the pleasure of serving tasty Mediterranean and Moroccan food to hungry Des Moines, IA metro residents, recently expanding service and offerings with a new and larger food truck in 2018.
