Cyrus Saffron
Farmer
We are a small family owned business located in Eastern Washington by beautiful Lake Chelan. We are a German-Iranien couple that started growing local saffron in the United States 4 years ago. We named our company after our 7 year old son Cyrus. Our team has currently 7 members and multiple seasonal workers that help us during our harvest in November.
Since December 2017 we have been part of the great Pike Place Market in Seattle. From there we were able to extend our wings to multiple local restaurants and small business around the region. Some of them are The Herbfarm, Lola, The Harvest Vine and the Wild Food Seafood Company, just to name a view.
We are also very proud to partner with the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Team. They have started to use our saffron as an alternative treatment for cancer prevention and fighting depression for their patient that have to go through the hardship of chemo.
We love what we do and want to share this wonderful spice and it's benefits with you. Local saffron, fresh from our farm directly to your table.

We have been using organic practices on our farm from day one! We are currently in the process of getting organically certificate and hope to add the official organic logo to our products within the next 4 years.
Nicole Beretha & Darush Amiri
The German-Iranien couple that started growing local saffron 4 years ago. Nicole came to the United States 13 years ago from Germany as an au-pair to study English as a second language at the Bellevue Community College, WA. During her stay she met Darush and the couple got married in 2007. Nicole worked 9 years for Amazon.com as an International Program Manager and decided in August 2017 to leave her position and focus full-time on their own saffron business.
Darush Amiri came to the USA in 2001 as a refugee from Iran. As a two time cancer survivor (leukemia) he appreciates the natural healing benefits of the saffron spice. Darush is an Inspector III and has been working for the Washington State Department of Transportation for 13 years. Their wish is to grow steadily and provide a living from their passion, the saffron farm.
Together they have 2 children, Cyrus, which the company is named after, was born in 2011. And Emily, who was born in 2013.
Ahmad Dolatabadi and Shamsi Nazemi are the parents of Darush Amiri. Both of them have provided an immense amount of support to the business and farm. Ahmad is with his age of 72 still fully hands on at the farm! Shamsi (67, years), with her endless patience, has been helping with packaging products once we first got started and is now in charge of keeping inventory up to date.
Outside of the farm we have 2 wonderful ladies helping us. Sonja King, is the store manager at our Pike Place Market table. She has been with us at the market from day one and is un-replaceable. She is reliable, punctual and honest. Our second helper is Andrea Rosolino, she is responsible for wholesales and is a sales expert.
We also have seasonal helpers during our harvest time in November but they tent to rotate year by year.
