About

Eden's Nectar Honey is a locally produced raw honey to the West Central Florida Area (Greater Tampa Bay) There are four seasonal nectar flows produced; Spring Summer Fall and Winter. Each honey harvested looks and tastes different, due to the nectar flow during each season. We encourage customers to taste each season at all the Farmer's Markets that we offer our products, so you can taste the difference and select the one best for you.

BETH JAMES
Skip and Beth James, as well as other family members, began Eden's Nectar in 2002, with our small family apiary in our backyard in Land O Lakes north of Tampa with 4 beehives, harvesting, packaging and selling from our home. Within a year the demand for the seasonal honeys being produced was growing beyond our now 40 hives. Since Skip worked on local ranches and state-owned lands for 28 years as a State Wildlife Officer (FWC), he asked property owners if we could place hives on their property, which they welcomed us. As a result, in two years we expanded to 400 hives. Four years into operating our family business, we ran into health issues, and we were not able to work the hives, package and work the farmer markets by ourselves. Other beekeepers heard of our situation an came along side to help, this led to the formation of the West Central Florida Beekeepers Coop, responsibilities were divided up, and collectively we became even larger as the other beekeepers built a bottling plant, and what seemed to be an overwhelming workload, became an efficient honey producing entity. After hurricanes, diseases, and more physical limitations, Eden's Nectar survived because the beekeeping community continued to work together and overcame obstacles and hardships to bring honey to your table every week through markets like Tampa Bay Markets, where we have vended our products for many years. Tampa Bay Markets has provided a platform for us to inform and promote our part of the apiary community to the public. We are so thankful and grateful for the many people who have supported us over the years; first and foremost, all our customers, the farmer markets, landowners, state, county, and community leaders, without all of these we could not have ever stayed in business. Today, the Tampa Bay Area's interest in beekeeping and local raw honey has never been greater, we hope to continue fulfilling our slogan, "Making Good Health Sweet", for you and honey lovers throughout the Tampa Bay Area.
