Island Laser Design offers precision artistry in hand-made lamps, maps and other fine furniture. We primarily serve the hospitality, cabinetry, and home furnishing markets. Our Design Studio is located in St. Petersburg, Florida.
We combine unmatched technical ability with contemporary and traditional design. From ambient lighting to museum sized layered wall maps with digital media, we combine today's advanced technologies with time honored precision woodworking and do custom work upon request.
Dean started his artistic career at an early age with chalk drawings of dogs and wildlife. Through the years he has developed a skill-set that includes mapping, GIS, illustrations, photography, 3D design and animation as well as a technical ability to innovate in the display and digital signage worlds.
Formally trained as a Cartographer and GIS Scientist, Dean speaks at universities and institutions on spatial shoreline issues as well as technologies being developed for planning and mitigation.
He developed award winning digital displays and animations for clients like NASA, The Pacific Aviation Museum in Pearl Harbor and many others.
Bridging his love of wood-working with digital art has given Dean a new expressive art style with laser cutting capabilities.
