Virtual Restaurant was born during the pandemic. Emma, the cofounder, received a phone call one day from her good friend Kate who worked at University of Washington. Kate was in tears as she told Emma that Malissa, Kate’s daughter, was sick and bedridden, because of her busy work, stress, and an unhealthy diet composed of mostly fast food, restaurant deliveries, and canned food. Kate was not able to see Malissa due to the risk associated with travel during COVID, which broke her heart.

“Is there a way for people to enjoy healthy and nutritious food, fast?” Emma could not stop thinking about it after the phone call. After months of research, Emma could not find any option on the market that would have been much better for busy people like Malissa.

Food should be tasty, fresh, healthy, and fast. Emma decided to step in. She created several recipes that combined fresh and high-quality ingredients sourced locally, proprietary methods that best preserved the flavour and nutrients, without any preservatives or artificial colouring. Emma did many experiments to find the best recipe and process to allow people like Malissa to have access to a healthy selection of menus and have them ready to serve within minutes. For example, our famous Beef Stew used 18 processing steps to have six different vegetables vanish into the stew and beef, while maintaining the aroma, flavour, and nutrients of them all. You will see and taste the same level of quality standard and workmanship, in every one of the many dozens of recipes created at VRV. VRV food is love.
