About

Hi, we're Jeremy & Megan Tinkel, Founders of Cayman & Company Candles and Soap. Our business was born out of lockdown in 2020. We had been connoisseurs of handmade natural soap for years. Suddenly when we couldn't go to farmers markets to shop our favorites, we decided to begin making our own all-natural soap.

We live in a rural part of Fort Wayne, IN on 3.5 acres. The 900 square foot garage behind our home was quickly converted into our studio space so we could begin experimenting with different formulations of cold-process soap and soy candles. We began sharing our creations with friends and family, and they were blown away by the quality. That's when we knew we wanted to share our non-toxic soap and candles with the world. So, in November 2020 when we opened our business, we decided to name it after our rescue dog, Cayman, and give a portion of our sales to non-profits that help homeless pets find loving forever homes. Little did we know, just a few short months later we would lose him to cancer. We still grieve the loss of our sweet boy today.

Since then, we have been growing, slowly and sustainably. In late 2021, we added 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner bars to our shop. We currently sell our goods at area farmers markets & pop-ups, online on our website, and wholesale with retailers.

Our candles, soap, and shampoo bars are all made by hand in our studio in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

The base of our candles is made with 100% soy wax and blended in small batches with fragrances and essential oils. Our candles are 100% paraben and phthalate-free and will burn cleanly all the way down. Every single candle is poured by hand and hand-labeled and packaged. We are proud to make a product that is beautiful, sustainable, and made in the USA.

The entire soap collection is preservative-free, blended in small batches with fragrances and essential oils, and colored with natural colorants only. Our soap is made in small batches with lots of love and attention to ensure the highest level of quality. We use the traditional cold process method. This allows the ingredients to stay at a low temperature to guarantee they keep their therapeutic properties. Our handcrafted soap is slowly cured for 4-6 weeks with each bar being unique in nature and varying slightly in size, shape, and weight.

All of our products are developed, produced, tested, packed, and shipped by our team out of our studio in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
